This spoken word piece was a response to the protests that happened after the police killing of Mark Duggan in 2011, the subsequent shameful media manipulation of his death and coverage of the riots/looting that happened in major cities across the UK. How many more times are we going to need to raise awareness and protest? And don't think here in the UK our history of racism is any less bloody. When it comes to deaths in police custody there's a long list; Rashan Charles, Sean Rigg, Sarah Reed, Anthony Grainger and Faruk Ali to name but a few. This is not a time to be quiet!
